What is a Covenant Church?

The Evangelical Covenant Church is a rapidly growing multi-ethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish Immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God's grace, and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God's love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.

Each church is a community of worship committed to prayer, preaching,and study of the word. We value relationships across gender, race, age, culture, and class. The Covenant seeks to equip loving, giving, growing Christians to reach out with the good news of Jesus Christ. Evangelizing the lost, ministering to those in need, and seeking justice for the oppressed. 


There are more than 800 Covenant churches in the United States and Canada. We are organized into conferences. Linwood Covenant is in the Northwest Conference (www.northwesternconference.org) Together we are making a real difference in real people in real places with the good news of Jesus Christ. 


We hope you will join us as we join with Jesus in God's rescue plan for the world which is the local church. Together we purposefully but imperfectly strive to follow the way of Jesus, who is our Lord and Savior. 

What to Expect

Linwood Covenant Church is a multi-generational church that desires to seek God together. When you come to worship, you can come as you are. Some people enjoy business casual wear, others are more comfortable in jeans and a clean t-shirt. 


We have coffee available before the service and refreshments after. We love to spend time connecting over coffee and donuts after the service.

    From new songs to historic songs of the Christian faith, we love to lift our voices in worship to God.

    We love having children as part of our church family! Providing time for families to worship together is important to us.


    We offer different opportunities for children of all ages to learn about the love of Jesus and journey with God.
