Mission Opportunities

  • Bikes for kids

At LCC we know that kids love bikes and we love kids! So partnering with this ministry is a great fit for us. We collect used bikes and bring them to Bikes for Kids. This ministry restores used bikes and brings them back to life making them like new! A part of this ministry is then locating children who could use a fancy new bike for summer!

To recommend a child(ren) who could use a new bike or if you have a bike that you would like to donate for restoration contact Judy Stevens.

  • Blessing Box

Blessing your day with FREE food!

We know that some days there is not enough pay check at the end of the month. Our Blessing Box is located in our parking lot attached to the light pole at the west end of the lot and is self-serve. Our volunteers routinely check and re-stock the box.

Feel free to stop by 24/7 to pick up some food for your family to enjoy.

  • Feed My Starving Children

Our faith calls us to look after those who find themselves without. Feed My Starving Children is an organization that we are proud to partner with as they seek to end the reality of malnourishment and starvation in our nation and around the world. This is a great way to love our neighbor and also to get to know people who call LCC home.

  • Linwood 5K Trail Run

Each fall we host a 5K walk/run in conjunction with our community celebration called Linwood Days, held the Saturday after Labor Day.

Check here in August for a registration from each year. Our 5K is a trail run through the beautiful Linwood Forest! It's a great way to care for the body God has given you and also experience the beautiful part of God's creation that we get to live in.

Medals are given for the top three finishers in three divisions; Women's Men's, and Youth. Everyone gets a t-shirt and the fun of walking/running with their neighbors!

  • Manna Market

Manna Market is a food rescuing and redistribution ministry. Thankfully the good people in the state of Minnesota have gotten better and better at making sure food that is unbought does not go to waste. We partner with Second Harvest in order to redistribute really good food to our neighbors who could use a little help filling their fridge. Manna Market happens on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 4:00-6:00pm

If you would like to help with Manna Market, there are opportunities throughout the day. Volunteers need to be persons who at least periodically attend LCC's worship service.

  • Adult & Teen challenge

We support the Adult and Teen Challenge program in Minnesota with Christmas Gifts.

A tree is set up in the Narthex with different christmas ornaments of things being wished for by someone in the MNATC program.  We welcome you to take an ornament, purchase the gift, and return it unwrapped. The gifts are then delivered to the program and are distributed.

  • Walk for Water

Every day, women and girls spend 200 million hours walking to collect water for their families. The average distance they walk each day to get water is 3.7 miles, a 6K. Not only does this walk keep girls from attending school, the water that is collected is often contaminated with life-threatening diseases that lead to the tragic death of many girls, boys, men, and women.

Our faith tells us that we need to join the effort so that all people have access to the clean water that we enjoy every day. At LCC, we partner with World Vision in order to bring the gift of clean water to those in need. Our walk happens each year in the month of May.
